Express has no way to combine or cut shapes – no union, no subtract, no intersect. So the moment a design needs a custom shape built from other shapes – a logo mark, an icon, a cut-out – you hit the ceiling. Boolean Boutique adds the five operations designers know from Illustrator's Pathfinder and Figma, and gives the result back as native, editable vector. Not a flattened picture of a shape. A real one.

Five boolean operations
Union merges shapes into one outline. Subtract cuts one shape out of another, with a clear BASE label showing which is being cut – one tap reverses it. Intersect keeps only where two shapes overlap. Exclude keeps everything except the overlap. Divide splits overlapping shapes into every separate region, so you can keep or delete each piece – the more shapes, the more it gives you.
Native, editable vector out
Results land on the Express canvas as real vector shapes, not flattened images – recolor, resize, rotate, and restyle the stroke with Express's own controls. A subtracted donut has a true see-through hole, clean, no seams. Place a multi-part result as separate shapes in a group to pull apart, or as one merged shape – your call at the moment you add it.
Four ways to get shapes in
Built-in shapes (rectangle, ellipse, triangle, star, adjustable-point polygon), draw your own point by point, upload an SVG, or paste SVG code straight in from Illustrator or another app.
Shape handling before you cut
Move, scale, and rotate shapes on the stage first. Set fill with swatches, a picker, or a hex value. Turn a solid shape into an outline ring of any weight (handy as a step before another boolean), or expand a stroked line into a filled shape. Undo and redo throughout.
Part of the vector suite
Boolean Boutique connects to Pen Pal and Stroke Stylus through SVG copy and paste: draw a path in Pen Pal, combine it here, dress it in Stroke Stylus – the shape travels between them (a quick select, copy, paste). It doubles as a way out to Illustrator, too – copy the SVG, paste it there.
